Inially wifi is to get connected but there was no internet coonectivity. After upgrading to UBUNTU 14.04 (fresh install), I have been facing wifi connectivity problems.

Would installing a wifi extender like right beside the PC help? The generic ones that comes with the ISP provider I would only use wireless if there is no chance of a direct connection. I would suggest this to anyone, if you can get an Ethernet line to the router do it.
